Cold Chain Logistics Innovation: ITE and Kyushu University MBA Business School`s students collaborated to propose the new business opportunity that is brought by TPP /IceBattery(R) Systems Solution.
IceBattery(R) system is capable of supporting multiple temperature zone from minus 25℃ to plus 25℃ without using electric power with zero-CO2 emission, keeping the product temperature constant and is able to deliver up to 160 hours; also this could be a good replacement for existing refrigerated truck . IceBattery(R) can easily be deployed in any country as borderless technology. This system is widely used in healthcare and food cold chain in all over the Japan with major companies. Its adoptability, environment friendly and scalability can be a key success factors to expand made-in-Japan products export in lower cost while maintaining quality, and brings new opportunity to the Japanese farmers and companies which awaits the introduction of TPP (Trans-Pacific Strategic Economic Partnership Agreement) .
Innovation Thru Energy Co., Ltd. is a leading company which manufactures and markets IceBattery(R) System and its solution, founded in Tokyo Japan. Mr. Shingo Igarashi , the associate professor of Kyushu University(Business School) invited ITE’s CEO, Mr. Pankaj Garg as a guest speaker since 2013 to teach entrepreneurship to the Kyushu University MBA students. The MBA students of Kyushu University and Mr. Garg collaborated to create new business opportunities from global point of view, in which a lot of Japanese companies would be benefitted to realize Cold Chain Logistics as global and domestic market.
Prof Mr. Igarashi notices the potential and the wide range of adaption of IceBattery(R) system, and invited Mr. Garg for Business Case Study Discussion. A new idea was actually adapted to a real business site, and showed a model case of industry-academia collaboration. About 40 ideas are proposed this year, and Mr. Garg will work on them to realize the idea to future business.
